The Modicon 140NOE77101, manufactured by Schneider Electric, is a communication module used with Quantum PLC for communication over Ethernet. This is an Ethernet option adapter that fits into the slot of the Modicon Quantum Ethernet module. 140NOE77101 is mounted on a standard baseplate of the Modecon quantum module.
Key features of the 140NOE77101 firmware configuration:
Integrated 10/100BASE-TX, full-duplex, shielded twisted pair ports
Before delivery, the module configuration does not contain an IP address. The same is true if you are not programming your device with Ethernet configuration extensions. In this case, when the module is started, it will try to get the IP address from the BOOTP server of the network. You can use Concept to assign IP addresses, default gateways, and subnet masks. See Configuring Ethernet Address Parameters in Chapter 4. You can also assign IP address parameters using the BOOTP Lite software utility.
The BOOTP server is a program that manages IP addresses assigned to network devices. Your system administrator can confirm whether a BOOTP server exists on your network and can help you use that server to maintain the IP address of your adapter.
